Prof. Dr.-Ing. Karsten Moritz, Managing Director
is a structural engineer and registered architect with more than 30 years of experience in the conception, design and technical assessment of advanced building envelopes and façades, ranging from early-stage innovation to market-ready, scalable solutions for series production.
He combines deep analytical expertise with a clear focus on practical implementation, sustainability, quality and commercial viability. In senior leadership roles within internationally active construction and technology companies, he has built and led interdisciplinary engineering and R&D teams, established materials testing and validation capabilities, and directed complex development programmes covering product design, verification and validation, testing strategies, approval and certification pathways, as well as patent and trademark processes. His work has been particularly shaped by serial energy-efficient renovation projects and industrially prefabricated façade and roof systems.
Alongside his industry work, he serves as Honorary Professor of Membrane Structures and Materials at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences and has been actively engaged in academic teaching and professional development for many years. His academic contributions include teaching structural engineering for architects at the Technical University of Munich, lecturing in the international postgraduate Master’s programme in Membrane Structures, and contributing to the education of chartered specialist engineers at IMS BAUHAUS Archineer Institutes e.V. in Dessau.
As a member of the Chambers of Engineers in Lower Saxony and in Saxony-Anhalt with statutory design submission rights, as registered architect with the Bavarian Chamber of Architects, and as a recognised expert in Structural Engineering, Lightweight and Membrane Construction with the Chamber of Engineers of Saxony-Anhalt, he stands for independent, technically robust and economically sound assessments and for solutions that are not only innovative, but also practical and implementable.
Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Florian Weininger, Authorised Signatory
studied civil engineering at the Technical University of Munich. In 2007, he co-founded LEICHT Structural Engineering and Specialist Consulting GmbH, with offices in Rosenheim and Munich. His professional profile combines structural design excellence with deep expertise in façades, building envelopes and advanced lightweight systems at the intersection of architecture, engineering and construction.
His work spans complex load-bearing structures, conventional façade systems and highly specialized membrane and foil applications. Alongside his engineering and entrepreneurial activities, he has held a professorship in Building Construction and Structural Systems at OTH Regensburg since 2019. In addition, he serves as a university representative of the Bavarian Chamber of Civil Engineers at OTH Regensburg, underlining his strong connection between professional practice, academic teaching and the wider engineering community.
At OTH Regensburg, his profile extends beyond classical teaching into interdisciplinary formats that link design, fabrication and digital construction. Public university sources associate him with the Building Lab, the “Design to Fabrication” teaching format and CyberCraft-related activities connecting construction, robotics and digital workflows.
He has also helped expand LEICHT’s international footprint through BPL Enclosure Engineering in Atlanta, which establishes advanced building-enclosure and façade-engineering expertise in the U.S. market.
